April 6-12 is National Prosthodontics Awareness Week, a week which brings national attention to the importance of maintaining a healthy mouth. Now in its fifth year, the week-long event is sponsored by the American Dental Association (ADA) and the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP). The week will feature events and seminars throughout the United States as well as highlight recently published articles and studies regarding American dentistry and oral prosthetics.
Join your colleagues from around the country to not only inform the public about the importance of replacing missing teeth, but to show appreciation for the skills and knowledge that prosthodontists bring to the field of dentistry.
What is the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP)?
The College is an educational and scientific organization, founded in 1970, created for the interests of both registered prosthodontists and the public who seeks them. The organization strives to bring awareness and interest to the field, while fairly representing the needs of those who are in it.
The Future of Prosthodontics
The ACP currently has over 3,700 members and is growing every day as interest in this field is stimulated by events such as National Prosthodontics Awareness Week. The ACP is the only prosthodontic speciality organization that lists academic credentials as a necessity to join. Members must have completed or be in the process of completing an ADA-accredited advanced education program in prosthodontics, thus opening the organization not only to practicing prosthodontists but to dental technicians and students as well.
